Recfishers urged to help save the Curdies

The Curdies River catastrophe has been ongoing since early-April when a blue-green algae bloom sent thousands of native fish belly up, cattle dead and bloating in the waterway, all while state government agencies passed the blame instead of tackling the issue.

The local community have been working hard to make sure the state government takes the issue seriously, takes action and have launched a petition for an urgent Remediation Action Plan.

The plan aims to strengthen stewardship and accountability by appointing responsibility for fixing this mess to a single authority, who can deliver the actions needed to restore the river’s health now and into the future.

It’s time to take action to save the Curdies!
