The Victorian Fisheries Authority’s Golden Tag competition is back and better than ever providing fishers opportunities to reel in a winner across the state.
The competition aims to boost tourism to regional Victoria to support regional towns and businesses. After months of lockdown, we know Victorian’s are eager to wet a line. Now is the perfect time to plan a fishing trip and support Victoria’s recovery.
There are more than 1,000 fish released as part of the Golden tag competition. Approximately, 950 fish have already been released at $2,000 each. More than 20 new fish worth $10,000 each and an extra 50 fish worth $2,000 will be released.
The competition has been expanded to include:
- Gippsland (Marlo, Bemm River, Tamboon Inlet, Lakes Tyers, Gippsland Lakes and Mallacoota)
- North East and Alpine regions
- Portland
- Rocklands Reservoir
- Lake Purrumbete and Lake Bullen Merri
- Lindsay River and Kings Billabong
- Lake Eildon
