Stonker Trout Stocked Across Melbourne

A massive 500 ‘stonker’ rainbow trout will be stocked across 18 family fishing lakes in Metro Melbourne!

Family fishing lakes provide a great opportunity for recfishers to cast a line. The lakes allow families to take up a new family-friendly hobby. With platforms and walking tracks, the lakes provide good access for families. They are stocked with ‘ready-to-catch’ rainbow trout before school holidays which are relatively easy to target.

According to the Victorian Fisheries Authority, the family fishing lakes to received these 4kg stonker trout are:

  • Albert Park Lake (60)
  • Lillydale Lake (45)
  • Emerald Lake (15)
  • Caulfield Racecourse Lake (30)
  • Don Lake (15)
  • Garfield Lake (10)
  • Lilliput Lane Reserve (10)
  • Pakenham Lake (30)
  • Casey Fields Lake (20)
  • Berwick Springs Estate Lake (20)
  • Roxburgh Park Lakes (10)
  • Yarrambat Lake (60)
  • Rowville Lakes (15)
  • Karkarook Lake (60)
  • Spavin Lake (30)
  • Navan Park Lake (15)
  • Darlingsford Lake (15)
  • Ferntree Gully Quarry (40)
