Have Your Say on Resource Sharing

The Australian Government are starting work on developing a framework for sharing Australia’s Commonwealth fisheries resources. The framework is intended to provide a clear way to allocate and re-allocate fishing resources. Commonwealth-managed fisheries are those that generally occur outside 3 nautical miles from the shore. You can find more about each fishery from the Australian Fisheries Management Authority’s website.

Survey Open

To help inform the drafting of a framework the Australian Government is inviting all fisheries stakeholders, including recreational fishers to have their say and express their needs for the fishery.

A survey is open until  21 October 2019. You can also elect within the survey to participate in future consultation.
