Workplace Policy Manual

 

At VRFish we are committed to providing a working environment in which employees feel they are safe, appreciated and informed. The VRFish Workplace Policy Manual has been designed to assist in achieving this. To view the Manual click here.

 

Recreational fishing is one of the most popular activities in Victoria and over 600,000 people go fishing in any one year. There are twenty six major recreational fishing organisations in Victoria that have representatives as members of VRFish. As members they have an opportunity and forum to raise issues and develop policy advice to government and agencies.

 

Affiliated Member

An Affiliated Member refers to a State Council Member being nominated by a Recreational Fishing Organisation.

These Organisations are Recreational Fishing or Traditional Fishing or Recreational Fishing Community, Association or Body incorporated in Victoria. The Organisation must have Membership comprising either at least 10 affiliated recreational fishing organisations or at least 500 registered individual Members. A Recreational Fishing Organisation is allowed to nominate two representatives to become Members of State Council.

Kindred Interest Group Member

 

A Kindred Interest Group Member is also classed as an Affiliated Member however, the Kindred Interest Group is an organisation or association incorporated in Victoria, that has similar objectives or that do not conflict with the objectives of VRFish. A Kindred Interest Group is allowed to nominate two representatives to become Members of State Council.

Unaffiliated Member

 

VRFish has representatives who are non-club members and they represent large numbers of recreational fishers who do not belong to any fishing organisation, under the Constitution these Members are referred to Unaffiliated Members.

In respect of Recreational Fishers applying to become Unaffiliated Members, who met the eligibility requirements in the Constitution, and who have agreed to be bound by the provisions of the Constitution, the VRFish Board shall accept up to twenty (20) of the applicants to become Unaffiliated Members.

What happens to your application after its submitted?

Once the signed application form has been delivered to the Peak Body, the application will be considered by the Board at its next scheduled meeting. Once the Board is satisfied that the applicant has met the applicable eligibility requirements of the Constitution, a notice of acceptance shall be sent to the applicant.
